Information for parents
Leadenham HC began in 2004 with the Cade family teaching the local juniors on the astro at Leadenham. Many of Leadenham's juniors quickly fall in love with the sport and have gone on to play for clubs up and down the coutry at a variety of levels, some have represented England at youth level, whilst others have gone to captain sides in the National League as adults and plenty have represented the county at youth and adult levels.
All of our coaches are DBS checked and bring a wealth of experience to sessions.
Sessions are split between different age groups and are mixed boys and girls.
Junior training starts at age 7 and once your child is 13 they can start training with the adults if they feel confident, or continue with the juniors until they are ready.
We actively encourage the juniors to take part in umpiring. This helps them to understand the game at an early age and also helps encourage responsibility and fair play.
For parents watching their kids play on the sidelines - hockey is a competitive but all round friendly sport. Thankfully we have never had an issue with supporters being abusive to players, umpires or coaches from the sidelines and we would like to keep it that way so we ask that you refrain from any aggressive behaviour.
